Paraguay announces audit to allow meat export to Philippines

The National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa) reported that the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), dependent on the Department of Agriculture of the Republic of the Philippines, will carry out an on-site audit in Paraguay with the aim of evaluating the authorization for the export of beef, pork and poultry to that country.

Inspection activities are scheduled from December 2 to 18, 2024.

During this period, BAI representatives will carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the official controls implemented by the Official Veterinary Service.

This process will include visits to the central laboratory, livestock establishments (cattle, pigs and poultry), regional offices, entry and exit points and livestock fairs.

This audit is  a key step in the negotiation process that began in 2020, when Senacsa submitted the documentation required by the Philippines veterinary authority.

Its purpose is to ensure that Paraguay’s sanitary practices and official controls comply with the international standards required by the Philippines.
